SkyTree in the Blue Sky

Tokyo Skytree is often listed as one of the must-visit spots for tourists in Japan, but did you know that besides the observatory deck, there is also a mall with a bunch of wonderful stores? From Oshiage Station, there is a direct way to the mall called “Solamachi”, and it is also connected to the Skytree observatory deck. In Solamachi itself, there are clothes stores, accessories stores, Disney store, restaurants, character cafes, and many more. Furthermore, on the rooftop, there is always a seasonal event being held. One time, there was a mini zoo where we can pet some of the animals, a temporary swimming pool for the summer, and illumination. Do not forget to check the mall out when you visit Tokyo Skytree!

The Beauty of Venus Fort

Last week, I went to Venus Fort mall in Odaiba with my friend. We had an event nearby and had lunch there after we finished. I really love Venus Fort mall’s aesthetic inside, which is like a European style buildings. I took a picture of the wonderful fountain complemented with the sky-painted roof. The spot is a famous tourist area since I also saw a bunch of foreigners taking pictures there. This mall is very recommended if you want to take instagrammable pictures! Actually, when we were inside the mall, the weather outside was really stormy. We could not even start heading home, so we spent several hours wandering around the mall, which was super nice.

Paella Time!

Last week, I went to eat paella for the first time at an Italian Restaurant in Shibuya. Usually when one mentions Italian food, we often think pasta, pizza, spaghetti, and risotto, right? I did not even know there is a menu called “paella” before in my life. As my friend explained to me that it is rice with tomato sauce, I thought it would be similar to a doria. However, it turns out that the taste is completely different! The tomato feels fresh, and the vegetables complements the taste perfectly. Furthermore, the place was also nice because it was on the top of Shibuya Scramble Square, where we can enjoy the skyscraper scenery.

My Hero Academia Exhibition

Last week, I went to an exhibition of one of my favorite anime, My Hero Academia (僕のヒーローアカデミア). They had the exhibition at Mori Art Museum in Roppongi Hills, and it was such a fantastic experience. I went with another friend who is a fan of the show, and we stayed there for about two hours. There are original manga panels on display, and we can clearly observe the author’s strokes in the illustration. There are also decorations like cutout panels for the characters, and even grand ones like the statue on the photo. He is one of the most important characters of My Hero Academia, All Might.

Chilling under the Cherry Blossom Tree

The cherry blossom flowers were on its peak of bloom a few weeks ago, and I managed to go hanami, appreciating cherry blossom flowers, to several places. One of the places is Shinjuku Gyoen, which I always go every year. There are wide fields where we can sit with friends and chat while viewing the beautiful landscape filled with pink. I love how the matcha frappucino that I bought matches with the pink scenery, and I think this photo turned out pretty decent.

Pillow of Sweetness

My friend introduced me to a delicious pancake menu in a cafe at Ikebukuro Japan. Recently, the cafe named Espresso D Works was circulating in social media trends, like Instagram and Twitter. We ordered their limited edition menu, which was a chocolate and strawberry combination. Although it was a bit pricey, the taste is completely worth it. Not only the sweetness and freshness of the strawberry and cream were at best, the texture of the pancake was also sending us to the clouds - as they call it in Japanese, ふわふわ fuwa fuwa.

Winter Illumination

あけましておめでとうございます! Happy New Year 2021, everyone! During the last day of 2020, I went to a really beautiful spot of illumination near Ropponggi Station. The name of the area is Tokyo Midtown. I have not heard of that area before, but I just looked up on Google, the best places for illumination and it got recommended. So I thought, why not trying to visit there? And it turns out to be way better than what we expected. The illumination area is pretty wide, and there is even an ice rink! Moreover, you do not need any admission fee to enter the illumination area. As seen in the photo, there is also a unique snow globe that you cannot find elsewhere!
