Tokyo Disneyland

Doesn’t matter whether you are a kid, adolescent, adult, or senior, you will still want to go to Disneyland, regardless of how old you are. Tokyo Disneyland is never empty of visitors! Trust me, I’ve been there 3 times in my entire life and I haven’t gotten bored at all. Despite the not-so-cheap price, the experience is definitely worth it, considering that there are tons of things you can do in Disneyland. Obviously, the rides are the main attraction, but more than that, you can enjoy night parade which is amusingly beautiful! Even during certain day, there will be a special parade which will be different than any normal parade. Gifts are also available in any kind of form, which I really like. The only downside is, we usually have to wait for 1-2 hours to get into a ride. However, the pain from waiting for such a long time is definitely paid off with the excitement as you get to experience the ride. You can go with your friend, family, or even your boyfriend/girlfriend! I guarantee you this won’t disappoint you.

Tokyo has a lot of magnificent zoos to offer, especially this one that I went to with my friends. Ueno Zoo (上野動物園) is probably one of the biggest zoos in Tokyo, with various land and marine animals that you can enjoy together with your fellow friends or family. The price is not that expensive, it only costs 600 yen for adults (16 years and above) or 200 yen for students! The animals you can see ranges from small birds, big birds, reptiles, big land mammals, arctic animals, and aquatic animals. Moreover, there is more beautiful view you can enjoy from this zoo other than just seeing the animals. This zoo is so good that I spent almost the entire day without getting bored, because there is too much to explore!

My Favourite Curry!

IMG_8310.JPG

This is personally the best curry I’ve ever tasted in Japan. Curry House CoCo Ichibanya (CoCoICHI) is one of the best place to have curry in Japan. In fact, they already have a lot of chains in different countries such as America, Indonesia, China, and many others. It is that famous! With a decent price, you can get an unforgettable taste of Japanese curry. They also have different toppings, varying from cheese, egg, tonkatsu, and a lot of things that will make your curry sing for itself. CocoICHI is really easy to find in Japan, no matter where you are. So, every time I’m craving for curry, this is my place to go. Hirekatsu curry is so far my favourite one, and it costs less than 1000 yen.

Performing at My Dormitory's Festival

final 2.jpg

On Sunday, 10 November 2019, I did a performance for the second time in my dormitory’s festival. The festival is called WISH Festival (WISH stands for Waseda International Student Housing), which is held once a year, and there are various booths, culinary, games, and performances from students all over the world. This year, I sang a duet with my friend. In total, we sang three songs: one Indonesian, one English, and one Chinese song. I was pretty surprised to know there were more friends coming to watch me than I thought. My friends from circle, church, other dorms, and also classmates. I had so much bliss when I performed. The duet song also went well, and our performance was well received as everyone gave us a warm applause at the end. Lastly, we took many photos together with the stage decorations. This was a very unforgettable moment for me.

Arashiyama Bamboo Groove

Located across Ōi River, Kyoto, Arashiyama must be one of the top sightseeing district for visitors and Japanese locals. It has a lot of historic sites and beautiful sceneries to offer, including this majestic bamboo groove. These standing-tall bamboos are approximately 30 meters in height and 15-20 cm in diameter. When I visited this site back in June 2019, there were a lot of tourists taking pictures whilst enjoying the incredible view. During summer, Arashiyama gets really hot to the extent that it reached up to 35 until 38 degrees Celsius at noon, so you will probably see many umbrellas scattered among the visitors. However, you will experience a relaxin, cool wind breeze as entering this bamboo groove, especially since the bamboos are covering most of the sunlight. Once you finished admiring these sceneries, the route will lead you to places where you can buy Kyoto souvenirs and traditional food, that’s including varies of ice creams that you can enjoy in the hot weather. There is no doubt that this site is one of “Kyoto’s wonders” that you must visit in order to get full experience of Japanese culture and its beautiful views.
